The CashTech Innovation Awards, established by the independent think tank Cash Essentials, recognize innovations that enhance access to and acceptance of cash.
What is CashTech?
CashTech represents the intersection of cash and technology. It unites innovative companies that utilize software and modern communications technology to improve cash services. This includes:
- Enhancing consumer and business access to cash.
- Facilitating cash acceptance by retailers across all channels.
- Boosting the efficiency, resilience, and sustainability of cash.
As banks reduce their cash infrastructure (branches, ATMs, and cash centers) in many advanced economies, CashTech has emerged as a vital complement to traditional cash distribution and circulation channels. Innovators are also enabling consumers to pay in cash for online shopping.
CashTech Innovation Awards 2025
The CashTech Innovation Awards 2025 will honour significant advancements in leveraging digital technology to ensure a sustainable, reliable, and accessible future for cash. The awards are divided into three categories:
- Best CashTech – Open to all organisations.
- Best CashTech Innovator – Open to start-ups and companies founded after 2019.
- Best CashTech Start-Up – Open to start-ups founded after 2023.
The judging panel will consist of members from the Cash Essentials Steering Committee.
Awards Ceremony
The CashTech 2025 awards will be presented at a special ceremony during the Future of Cash Conference in Warsaw, scheduled for November 3-5, 2025.
